About Jill

by Jill

Jill is a 20-something Seattle native turned New Yorker. She holds a J.D. and a B.A. from New York University. Currently she works as a lawyer in Manhattan.

Jill has also written for Yale Journal of Law and Feminism, the Guardian, the Huffington Post, Alternet, Women’s eNews, the NYU School of Law Alumni Magazine, and Ms. JD. She has served as an editor for AlterNet’s Reproductive Justice and Gender section, the Washington Square News, the New York University Review of Law and Social Change, and the NYU School of Law Alumni Magazine.

Her first contribution to a feminist anthology, Yes Means Yes: Visions of Female Sexual Power and a World Without Rape, is out now.

She travels as often as possible, and has lived in Italy, Greece and Germany. She loves old books and Burt’s Beeswax chapstick, and is addicted to NPR, the New Yorker and the New York Times. Her favorite indulgences include red red wine, bourbon, a good cappuccino, and browsing real estate listings. Someday she will live in Paris. Or maybe Berlin.

Her dislikes include Everybody Loves Raymond, network news, Tucker Carlson and other bow-tied right-wing pundits, Aerosmith, bad puns, California rolls, people who refer to themselves in the third person, and the smell of baby powder. She really, really hates donuts.
