About Lauren
In 2001, bored one night as her toddler napped, Lauren Bruce founded this website as an attempt to explore feminist practice and theory from the comfort of her own bedroom, writing extensively about teen- and single-parenthood, social class, and pop culture. Since then, Lauren graduated from Purdue University, got married and got a job, and has quit blogging at least three times. She lives in Indiana with her husband and son and their four fat cats.
She is also known to accept bribes.
The picture of Lauren above was taken at least five years ago, because she does not like cameras, and does not photograph well. You might say the continued placement of this photo is false advertising, and Lauren would agree.
