Somebody Convince Me Not To Drop Out

Welcome to the obligatory end of semester procrastination post. Why, if it weren’t for this blog, I might be doing something else. Like writing the four papers due on Thursday.

Tonight’s goals:

  • Finish two 3 page papers. Email both to prof.
  • Have thesis and opening statements for 3rd paper.
  • Not get sidetracked by laundry, cat, or blogs.
  • Don’t drink too much caffeine.
  • Plan 4th paper; try to find corresponding sources.

Yo, Lauren, good luck on this. Excellent. I’m already blogging about not blogging.

Except for the 4th one, it all sounds possible.

I realized recently that it’s a good thing that the work never seems to get any easier. (Now I’m off to play with the new buttons.)

Don’t make me come back from France early to kick your ass. Stay in school.

Rox, aren’t you drinking and smoking somewhere in Par-ee? Get off the computer, woman.

There’s something called too much coffee?
Getting sidetracked is something I am an expert out. Here’s what to do. Decide you are going to blog and will not get sidetracked by papers/schoolwork. Insist that you read at least 50 bogs and comment on twenty of them. Then pick up the cat. Play with the cat while you are avoiding the blog stuff. Randomly grab some laundry, realize the situation is helplezs and the best bet is to vow to use recyclable, renewable clothes. Then, with relief, turn to your papers. You will not have to read and respond to posts! You can do schoolwork!

    Good luck on all btw.

I save those activities for a little later than the crack of dawn.

Stay in school! Once it’s over, you’ll miss it. And you’ll find yourself listlessly walking around the house wishing for intellectual stimulation.

YES YES YES. Amanda is right as always. As bad as finals are, they’re better than the petty bullshit of most people’s work lives,
