Sex and the asexual girl

Asexuals are finally coming out. I can’t even begin to summarize the entire article, but it’s incredibly interesting; it seems that the discourse around asexuality is trying to walk a fine line where asexual people are validated, but where issues leading to asexuality can still be discussed and examined.

I’m wondering how Jerry Falwell reconciles his ‘abstinence only’ mindset with his ‘___sexuality is a choice’ mindset.

There was discussion on the national youth radio station here in australia either earlier this year or late last year about “asexuality”… very interesting stuff *nods*

To be honest this is the first I have heard about it – perhaps I have been ignorant towards it though I doubt that because I feel affected by it on a personal level. Is no one else even a little suspiscious of this new ‘sexuality’ though?

The more I think about the idea of asexuality, the more confused I become. I must admit, as I said earlier, that I had not heard of it before at all, which in itself is saying a lot about its marginal position here in the UK for instance. I’ve written a little more about it but need some help in the mental mess I have got myself in, trying to make sense of this phenomenon.
