If, as you live your life, you find yourself mentally composing blog entries about it, post this exact same sentence in your weblog.

At one point this weekend, I turned to Ryan and said, “I hope you know that with all the constant commentary you make you are writing my blog for me.”

Lately I’ve had several people in my life tell me that they have NOT had particular conversations with me, and my not in the future, simply because they didn’t want them to end up on my blog in some form. It’s becoming a problem.

Ha! Remember the other day when you looked in my book and saw these scraps of paper I’d marked pages with that were filled with little scrawlings of mine.

You called it out right then and there: “Oh, looks like a blog entry.”

@ Jeffrey: At least be glad the were willing to open up enough to tell you they were holding back. Maybe in doing that they were looking for some reassurance from you that yes, as a friend, you’re willing to assure them that certain conversations will not appear on your blog.

I tend to combat that issue by a) not posting about intensely personal things, at least those which others have expresed to me in confidence and b) continue to perfect my endeavor to be a cold-hearted bitch. If I don’t feel anything at all, there’s no chance that things involving feelings will show up on my blog :)
