Another early post usually reserved for Friday.
They finally resemble something close to friends, meaning Doug terrorizes Pablo with love as much as he generally antagonizes him. Pablo tolerated this cuddle time long enough for me to get the photo, then jumped off the bed looking generally pissed off.
So sweet!
Two seriously cute cats!
Our male (Nico) and female (Mecca–no religious disrespect intended; we didn’t name her) DHCs have this sort of love/hate/like/dislike/tolerate relationship. Occasionally they’ll groom each other and everything’s fine. Then the male decides he wants to get amorous (they’re both fixed) and jumps on her (he doesn’t seem to know what to do after that), and she lets out some loud hisses, spits and yowls and breaks free. A minute or two later they ignore each other like nothing happened–they’ll often sit or lie down within a couple feet of each other.
We always intervene if we can, of course, but sometimes it happens so fast that by the time we get there, it’s over. If he No one is ever injured, and fortunately these episodes are getting much rarer than in the past. They’re both 12 yrs. old–maybe he’s getting more sedate in his middle to old age…

That is a funny story, Harrison, cats making out usually make some terrifying noises and you are brave to get involved…
