Hmm…If I didn’t know better, I’d say you were hating on Queen…But you wouldn’t do that, would you?

Anyways, my FRT:

Samael — “Black Trip”
The Roots — “Break You Off”
A Perfect Circle — “Lullaby”
The Pharcyde — “4 Better or 4 Worse”

1) Shooglenifty: Delighted (“Acid Croft” modern Scotish folk band)
2) Aerosmith: Back in the Saddle
3) The Cult: Electric Ocean (from Electric, an underrated album)
4) Soundgarden: Head Down
5) Steely Dan: Show Biz Kids
6) Black Flag: Fix Me
7) Led Zeppelin: In the Light
8) The Who: My Generation
9) Pink Floyd: Childhood’s End
10) Free: All Right Now

(heavy on the classic rock today. It’s good to be back after several Fridays so busy that I never listened to a single song, even on the commute)

“Scottish” is, of course, spelled with a double “t”. My fingers are protesting the long work hours.

Lauren, I’d give it an 8. The Queen ain’t as bad as you think, and some Elvis always brings the audit numbers up nicely.

You beat norbizness.

Lauren: I’m assuming #1 is a Kraftwerk cover. What does it sound like?

1. Close up The Honky Tonks (Flying Burrito Brothers) / 2. No Aloha (The Breeders) / 3, Brandenburg Concerto 3-3 (Wendy Carlos) / 4. We Are Neighbors (Chi-Lites) / 5. Beat Me Senseless (Circle Jerks) / 6. The Poor People of Paris (Chet Atkins) / 7. Diamond Hard Apples of the Moon (The Nice) / 8. God’s Comic (Elvis Cotello) / 9. Brainiac’s Daughter (The Dukes of Stratosphear) / 10. Why Can’t I Touch It? (The Buzzcocks)

I don’t want to be the Prrrrrresident of Amerrrrrrica. Everybody always dominates my self-audit score. That’s because nobody puts Daryl Hall and John Oates in a corner!

I have a small obsession with Elvis Costello, and the unplugged version of Deep, Dark Truthful Mirror is amazing.

Jill:

I have a small obsession with Elvis Costello, and the unplugged version of Deep, Dark Truthful Mirror is amazing.

I got to see him this year at Bumbershoot. Very cool; would have been cooler if I hadn’t been soaked by the downpour we got that afternoon.

On to Friday Random Ten – Too Cool for School Edition:

1. Stevie Wonder – My Eyes Don’t Cry (Cool anecdote: He played this song at Detroit’s tricentennial celebration in 2001 and hundreds of people did the electric slide/hustle/whatever that dance is in the streets. Pretty neat)

4. LL Cool J – Going Back To Cali
5. Electric Light Orchestra – Telephone Line
6. Pet Shop Boys – West End Girls

I don’t think Bicycle Race requires any apology, although I’m admittedly more of a “Fat-Bottomed Girls” man…
