Last night, I had the pleausre of attending a blogger party organized by Karol, who was really cool, as I expected.
It was great fun. My dear friends Shankar of TK (who has an additional picture) and Jess, a feministing contributor, came as well. I wore my feministing tank top to represent.
And I met Dawn Summers, who is hilarious and shares her name with another Dawn who I don’t love as much. Sadly, I did not get a picture with her.

The old-fashioned part of me prompts me to point out, Lauren, that you, too, are very photogenic. I hope that’s not offensive coming from someone you’ve never met…
But that’s only because I post the good ones. Trust me. ;)
Lauren, you are ridiculous. (Let me also throw in there that for some reason, I turn out better in pictures than I actually look in weird life. It’s my greatest gift).
Anecdote: I was over at my friend Sean’s house (Sean of tampon-applicator-wrapped-in-TP-fame), and I was looking through your Flickr photos. Sean looks over my shoulder and says, “Wow, who is that? She is so pretty!” And he is super-critical, and rarely says that anyone is pretty. So that’s a pretty high compliment.
I think you are gorgeous to the point where people don’t feel the need to tell you that you’re pretty; they just assume you already know.
(Hopefully, this does not compromise anyone’s feminist politics. We can all still appreciate beauty where we see it, right?)
