Twenty-two unreleased Elliott Smith songs, dubbed From the Basement On the Hill II, are available for download. Get them soon because they will only be up for about a week.
Though I was disappointed with the post-mortem release, you bet your ass I downloaded these.

Wow I love you right now. I just sent that to everyone I know.
Some of these are early versions of already released songs, some are B-sides. So far I like.
This is top priority as soon as I get home tonight. Thanks, Lauren!
On a related note, in February there’s going to be a tribute album called To: Elliott From: Portland, featuring Portland bands including The Decemberists, Helio Sequence, The Thermals, Sean Croghan, and others. I’m excited for that. I wish they’d gotten the remaining members of Heatmiser do a song, though.
Oh, I love Heatmiser.
I like Freeze Miser….oh, wait, we’re not talking about those Rankin-Bass holiday specials, are we?
Heatmiser: Mic City Sons. Elliott Smith and Neil Gust. Great album.
Thanks, Lauren.
I think I’m gonna have to write new quips.
I knew you had discriminating taste, Lauren. Don’t forget Sam Coomes, now of Quasi.
(I actually like their earlier albums even better than Mic City Sons. Especially Dead Air.)
And Linnaeus, if it makes you feel any better, that’s where they got the name.
Woo hoo! I rock!
Sorta.
thank you, thank you, thank you, Lauren.
