Sars over at Tomato Nation is holding another donation drive for New York public schools.
Yes, it’s that time again — the TN Contest is back, and it’s bigger and better than ever.
You’ll recall that, a year and a half ago, you guys pulled together to raise more than $23,000 for New York City public schools — you sent kids on field trips, bought them microscopes and books and furniture, and let them start sports teams and yearbooks.
It’s time to do it again.
Many kids in NYC and around the country are getting “left behind” — city budgets can’t provide enough supplies, teachers can’t make up the shortfall, and schoolchildren suffer as a result.
…But there’s more! If she collects $30,000 in donations, she will shave her head.
All of it. And she’ll videotape it.
So, c’mon. Think of the last movie you saw in theatres. If three thousand people donate the amount of money it costs to wonder what else you could have done with those two hours you’ll never get back, $30,000 goes to kids you can read abouthere, and Sars goes bald.
Hate to be the bearer of bad (ok, actually good) news. The contest is already over. She hit the $30,000 limit and fully funded all of her challenges with a week to spare.
People really wanted to see her shave her head.
