…is when you are unapologetically thrilled that you get to sleep in until 7am on a Thursday.

I’m happy if I make it to bed by 7am…Sleep? What’s this sleep thing you people are talking about?

Hah. That’s when I have to get up for work. It ain’t “sleeping in” unless you compare it to my old job when I had to BE at work at 7 a.m.

To me, “adult” is sleeping in naturally till 8:30 and then waking up and being unable to sleep some more. Damned sunlight.

I’m usually leaving the house at 7:15 to get E to the sitter and myself to work by 8. This means getting both of us ready at a sinfully early hour.

Well, this morning, I got woken up at 6:30 by a backhoe under my bedroom window.

And I mean that literally — the property line of the lot next door, undergoing construction so that we can add yet more luxury condos to the neighborhood and completely change it, goes right up to the exterior wall of my building.

Who was lucky enough to sleep in until 7 AM as a teen? I had to be up well before that to get to school on time. Worse during marching band season.

My son walked into my room at 5:30, asking for a sippy cup full of milk. This is a typical morning.
