Remember how I pointed out that some Duke alumni and families had hired Bob Bennett to “defend Duke’s honor” in the whole lacrosse team scandal and how he doesn’t come cheap?
Looks like the family of at least one player who could be implicated is verrrry well-connected.
I was wondering who could hire a heavy hitter like Bennett.
What’s also interesting is that one of the other lawyers is Wade Smith, the guy who unsuccessfully defended Jeffrey MacDonald, the green beret who killed his wife and little girls. Nobody could believe a nice white boy would do a thing like that.
Yikes, I don’t know how somebody could do that. He defends scumbags, basically.
That what defense attorneys do, the defend the hated and win big money from the rich hated when they do their job well.
Like was glaringly obvious in the OJ trial, what really bothers me is that a lot of DA’s are so incompetent along with those he has to work with, from the crime lab to the street cops that the case can easily be bungled and lost.
Put someone who sharpens their teeth everyday against an underfunded, understaffed and often ill experienced or uninterested party and the sharks have a feeding frenzy.
