To BlogHer I Come

So I get home from work tonight and all I have to do to get ready for the trip is two loads of laundry and throw a bunch of crap in a bag. When I mentioned this to my boss, she shivered and said she’d freak out if she weren’t completely packed the day before a trip. I’m used to flying my the seat of my pants, I told her.

And lo, what should amount to an easy night is quickly becoming the stuff of Murphy’s Law. My washing machine is broken.

If you see me at the conference and I smell bad, you know why.

UPDATE: Oh yeah, I can’t find my bag either.

Never fear: Even if you smell like a skunk, wingers will want to have sex with you.

If I get solicited for booty at a tech conference for women, you sure as hell know I’ll be blogging about it.

    Oh, good golly.

I can tell you, if you use soap first, whatever you use later will not be as effective. Vinegar works well, as does tomato juice.

    Good luck with the conference!

In the words of Billy Crystal in the movie “The Princess Bride”…

    Have fun storming the castle!

Say hi to Amanda Congdon who used to host Rocketboom while you are there. :)

Blog the hell out of it, and have fun.

And if the smell gets really bad, I hear that baby wipes and a liberal application of Febreeze are exactly the same as fresh clothing and a long hot shower.

Thanks for starting this blog, by the way. Feministe was one of the first feminist blogs I stumbled upon. I miss reading your words.

ScottM: It was really weird seeing your user name. Scott’s my old name.

Update: Lauren found her bag, made all her planes, and is now hanging out with us chez Zeke. (We’re out of Febreeze, so she’s showering now. Is that TMI? It is? Good.) We’re heading down to Blogher shortly.
