Me and my sister always used to eat feta with our watermelon. Easiest things to find in Greece, in the summertime.
I never knew it’s a *legitimate* salad. hahaha! whee!

(also pears+blue cheese, but its sounds less refreshing)

I used to eat something like this in France, but with apples in, and cracked pink peppercorns all over the top. The peppercorns really made it.

Zuzu, when do you plan on doing some friday cat blogging with the reader supplied pictures?

Hey Zuzu, I had this recently at Artisanal (33d and Park) — if you feel lazy and more like being served than cooking. It was lovely.

Well, it wasn’t quite the same thing. Fresh ricotta salata rather than feta. And there were little sweet/tart bits of pickled rind in there too. No parsley, etc.

I just made this and it was fantastic. Love the red onion in lime juice.
I’ve been a fan of feta + fruit in salad for a while now and have tried (and loved) papaya and mango but never thought of watermelon. Thanks for the link!

I saw a Thai version of that – minus the olives and cilantro instead of parsley – in Everyday Food a few months ago.
