Punkass Marc has a post that puts the 30,000 Iraqi dead that Bush will admit to (vs. the 650,000 of a recent estimate) into perspective.

One figure I wished he’d set out was the number of Kurds gassed by Saddam Hussein. Since they’ve been used as the reason Saddam was such a bad guy who had to be taken out.

The estimate of Kurds killed in Iraq in 1988 is pegged at a minimum of 50,000. Human Rights Watch places the number between 50-100K in their report on the massacre in Anfal province.
