KnifeGhost sends on this article about a well-known Iranian actress and the trouble she’s facing after a sex tape she made with her boyfriend was leaked onto the internet. I’ve gotta give this woman credit for her reaction, though — she stands up for herself and doesn’t apologize, despite facing serious legal action, including being beaten for having sex outside of marriage and offending the public morality. She’s certainly got more chops than, say, Paris Hilton, whose family came out on the defensive and said that she was drugged and under-age (she was neither). This has already seriously hurt her career; hopefully it will blow over and won’t land her in jail, or worse.

Iranian police said the motive of Ebrahimi’s boyfriend for making the video public was unclear.
Obviously, Iranian police haven’t got much imagination, have they?
Iteresting how he’s not been named.
Ugh. People just need to admit to themselves: folks are going to have sex. Leave them alone.
Why do people even make sex tapes, especially celebrities? It just seems stupid in the extreme. My personal rule of thumb is don’t commit anything to a digital medium that you’re not willing to have a permanent public record of. Hell, I don’t even use my real name to comment on blogs.
Hedonistic – I thought it was interesting, too, that he wasn’t named.
It continues to amaze me that men want sex and also punish women for having it. Lovely dichotomy, isn’t it?
anne: no, no- they want to punish women for having sex with other men. It’s fine if you want to have sex with a given guy- just don’t let on that you have sex with other men. Some men seem to think that any woman they’re not personally having sex with should be absolutely chaste.
I remember reading on instapundit the suggestion that the US should offer asylumn to women in other countries with ridiculous laws that discriminate against women. It seems like this would be a great opportunity to really piss off the Iranians. We always have room for more sex-tape-making celebrities!
