I know this is a bit off topic, but I saw a completely trivializing television portrayal of a woman with breast cancer (“Why I wore lipstick to my masectomy” on Lifetime), where a doctor seemed overly concerned with her not losing her “beautiful” breasts. Later, her husband’s satisfaction with her potential implants seemed to take focus over her health.

I assumed health professionals and husbands/partners of women with breast cancer would be more concerned with her health and survival, rather than the aesthetics of her body.

In addition to feeling naive in thinking that no one would seriously pose this question, with a woman who has breast cancer sitting right in front of them, I’m embarrassed to be lumped in a profession with asses such as Larry King and Chris Mathews.

But I don’t know how the guy has the nerve to show his face on camera, or anywhere else, after it was revealed that he takes huge “speaking fees” from advocacy groups like the National Venture Capital Association. NBC should shove a hardball up his pudgy ass.
