I was in NO this summer working with Habitat for Humanity. There is still so much to be done. In fact, there was a body found in one of the houses to be gutted. We worked in an area called Musician’s Village. They had completed several houses, but no one was able to move in because the city still had not restored power and water to that neighborhood. The silence and emptiness were overwhelming.

I caught the episode– hard work. I don’t understand why they don’t knock them down & rebuild them… this can’t be that much cheaper, and you don’t have to worry about mold and rot weakening the members. Hopefully, this effort will arrest the damage quickly enough that the houses will remain safe for another generation or two.
