Bras vary widely. I’m uncomfortable in most bras, especially nylon ones, and underwires always bruise me … but I happily wear Leading Lady’s all-cotton bras. These are intended for pregnant women, so they’re specifically designed to be comfy (non-scratchy, no exposed seam allowances, no pressure points).

I also recommend looking at Title 9 Sports’ bra offerings: many styles for many shapes of chest, with detailed reviews.

I’m with Tara, although I find wearing a bra uncomfortable (polyester fabric, pinching, etc.), I can’t get used to going without one, although I have tried. The slut-shaming in my growing up was severe and I’ve managed to do away with a lot of it, but feeling ‘dirty’ and naked without a bra is probably a last hold out that I just haven’t the energy to conquer. Notwithstanding a substantial gain in weight in the past ten years adds jiggling which just makes matters worse.

I didn’t wear one for many years. Right now, I wear one because it holds things in place when I’m hiding out in the file room, reading a novel, and trying to pump the boobies dry for le babe.

And somedays, I still forget to put one on. And have to sit there, holding the thingies in place, not reading my novel :(

i’ve been so conditioned to wearing one that it’s hard for me to do things in the house, after work and with my nite clothes (old t-shirt and sweats top and bottom), without feeling a bit nekkid. (though I can’t sleep with a bra on). Damn patriarchy.

Oh man, I wish I were like Rhiannon and be so comfy in a bra I could sleep in it. Or not wear one at all. By the end of a day my shoulders and upper back are aching, but it’s not like I can move fast without one. So jealous.

Well, there’s something about my left side that causes underwires to dig into it. This occurs regardless of how well-fitting the bra is otherwise. It’s probably just an anatomical quirk.

I’m like Janeish, I more comfortable wearing a bra than not. Usually I’ll get fed up trying to go braless on the weekends and throw one on. I even sleep in my bras most nights… I guess cause I forget I’m wearing them.

The benefits of having relatively smaller breasts :) I don’t have to wear a bra unless I’m trying to pretend I have cleavage.
