The network has just added nine episodes to next season, which might mean that it's a wrap.

They could have junked the last 4 episodes and made them all the trial... there was so much good stuff in this episode that cries out for longer exposition and background to people's motivation. BSG has really dropped the ball. I was almost thinking it had jumped the shark. I'm still not convinced. If they take all the good stuff and throw it into two episodes and draw out all this lame crap as what they think people want--they will plummet to the recesses of tv obscurity.

I've seen Katee Sackhoff jogging the Stanley Park seawall, and a friend of mine saw her doing the same thing on another occasion. From what I saw, she's a healthy, athletic young woman with a very nice shape shown off nicely by her workout gear. And cute, too (what? I'm not blind). She looked like she was in pretty good shape, with a slow but steady pace that *I* certainly wouldn't be able to sustain over the whole seawall. I mean, it's not exactly the Grouse Grind, but it's also not a jog for a jogging dilettante, or someone who's not in good physical condition.

On a slightly related note (science fiction), I can remember reading on a message board some unhinged complaints regarding Summer Glau in the movie Serenity. Apparently she had fat thighs and those made her ugly and gross and in need of dieting. Yes, THAT Summer Glau, who's about the size of a toothpick.

I thought it was kind of pathetic that Glau was being excoriated essentially for being a dancer, because yeah, dancers often do have muscular thighs. I mean, she did all her own stunts! I'm betting she's a hell of a lot fitter than a woman who's dieted her strong thighs away and is no longer capable of athletic feats.

At least when it's women like Katee Sackhoff or Amber Benson, who are slim and gorgeous but also curvier than the usual Hollywood starlet, I can kind of see where people are getting the 'fat' idea from. I disagree totally, but I can at least follow the flawed logic that leads them to criticise these actresses. I just don't understand how anyone could look at a picture of Summer Glau and think she was overweight, even if they were using Hollywood standards rather than real world standards.

*sigh*

I can't believe it's almost over for another season.

I also can't believe that anyone could ever think that Katee Sackhoff was fat. (What. The. Fuck.)

PS I thought that Tigh was probably one of the final five ever since D'Anna's more-or-less last words in Rapture.

Athletic body = fat? Or...strong woman = scary?
With the corollary: helpless waif = sexy.

I'm heart-broken to realize that Katee's being beaten down over her weight. I'm currently buffing up to get into the RCMP and view her as an inspirational woman who is so obviously strong and still sexy. If nothing else she's still a role model for women but one more sad example of men being completely oblivious to reality. Can't live with them. Can't get them to STFU.

I thought it was a really good episode, though I totally had a "what the fuck" moment with TIgh. What's he even doing anymore?

It's awesome that the show has *us* going on the "well, who's a cylon?" witch-hunt which was the focus of a few eps. a long time ago but has kind of fallen by the wayside since among the characters on the show. That's really a sign of the strength of the plot on the show, even on off-episodes.

I can't wait for next week's episode when, for one last time this season, I'll get to raise my fist and say "Damn you, Ron Moore!" with the closing cut to credits.

I'm glad to see a good episode after the slump of the last few. The character of Roslin is getting under my skin like no other. I want to love her, but between child labor, book burning, anti-abortion laws and the whole airlocking hobby.... I think she's losing her soul.

Like holly r. and Kevin, thanks for the immense insight, nerdlet, and also for bringing up Katee Sackhoff's alleged "weight" issue. I thought she looked a little thinner in recent episodes, but it's often hard for me to tell from one episode to the next. I can't believe ANYONE would think she was fat. She is HOT, and always has been. I'll never understand that mentality. What world do these assholes live in? How many women do they see walking around that look like anorexic supermodels? As holly r. mentioned, Ms. Sackhoff has an athletic physique. Is that unattractive to them, or maybe threatening? If Ms. Sackhoff is even one quarter as tough as her character on BSG is, she could probably kick the asses of almost all of her "fat" critics. I bet if she went up to one of her weight critics and said, "So, you think I'm FAT!?!", he would probably piss his pants. I'm assuming most of them are men, because most of the harshest critics of female weight are men. (Women can be bad too, mind you, but most still seem to be men.)

If Katee needs a shoulder to cry on, would one of you tell her I'm available to console her? Hell, I'll take her to a buffet and tell her, "Eat up, my lady." I know we were made for each other. You'd think after receiving 6,000 love letters from me that she would agree, but apparently not yet. I think this 6,001st letter will finally persuade her.
