    Why can’t people admit to messing up?

    Once upon a time, I made fun of a fat person.

    Then I thought about it.

    Then I said – “Wow, I made fun of a fat person. For being fat. That was really shitty and cruel of me, and it probably betrayed some serious weight-anxieties that I was desperately trying to hide at the time… You know what? I’m very sorry. I will learn from this.”

    Clearly I was wrong. I should have said something like, “Well, it’s really the fattie’s fault for beng fat. You know. She MADE me do it. I’m innocent.” And then FOX News would have invited me in for a cozy chat and a bit of biscuit.

    WTF??????

    The apparatchik comparison is especially appropriate in this instance.
