For the nerds! The folks at Girl-Wonder.org have created a truly awesome Anti-Comics-Feminist Bingo Card. As pointed out in the linked forum thread, they unfortunately omitted "Comics are a business, people make what sells!" But squares like "Why are you complaining about comics when women in Muslim countries are oppressed?" are applicable in so many contexts.

Can I ask a question about the White Liberal Bingo? I don’t get what’s wrong with this statement:
Claims that not dating POC is purely a matter of physical preference—“I don’t date short/redheaded men, either!”

Is that statement like “the patriarchy hurts men too” and it’s fine in some contexts but in the context of a bunch of the other statements on the board it’s kind of suspect? Because in isolation I can’t see anything wrong with it, and the implications of objecting to it are kind of disturbing. It sounds like blaming women for being “unfair” in their sexual preferences, the way Nice Guys do. And I’ve occasionally been accused of racism by men I’ve rejected, purely because I rejected them. It was annoying when it was just some random stranger and deeply upsetting when it was someone who I thought was my friend but turned out to have entitled Nice Guy tendencies. So that’s probably affecting how I read that statement: who the hell thinks they have a right to tell a woman that she ought to date someone she doesn’t want to? Am I missing some crucial bit of context here?
(I would also say, just for context, that this isn’t a physical preference I personally have.)

Nick – there’s also the idea, as brought up in the discussion at Pandagon, that the point of the cards is to identify a running theme and get bingo. So one occurrence of “patriarchy hurts men too” could be completely innocent and well-intentioned and fit in with the thread. But it could also be an attempt at a derail, and when coupled with stunners like “sexual assault is rare, you’re just paranoid” and others, it racks up the squares.
