I decided to start a new blog, which combined with a new PhD results in the new handle. My first substantive post, Is this your first pregnancy?, is about pregnancy after abortion and the legitimacy of discussing a pregnancy that ended in an elective abortion.
I managed to humiliate the guy who totally wrecked my confidence a few weeks ago (by getting his male friends to gang up on me and guess my bra size). However, I did it by stooping to his level, so I’m not sure if I should be proud of myself or not. But at least I stopped it myself.
Here is an art project I put together with my collective last week. It’s a series of drawing-poems in which I attempt to process the existence of suffering (more or less).
I read a book about a Peace Corp’s volunteer stint with a rural Malian midwife, and meditated a little on my feelings about the female body.
I wrote about a coworker who thinks I’m a spoiled person because I don’t have/don’t want children.
The First Carnival for Radical Action is up at The Anti-Essentialist Conundrum.
I blogged about this article by Mona Charen in which she opines that teen moms need to be hidden away and denied college prep courses because it’s not like teen moms can ever be successful anyway.
Wow, some great posts being promoted here. I’m almost embarrassed to offer my own:
Horses and Shamans
It’s about finding a short film about an old buddy of mine on YouTube, and discovering that he has an autistic son (it’s been awhile since I’ve talked to this guy). The video is about how my friend managed to reach out to his son, and it’s definitely worth seeing.
I have a total puff piece up about Things I Have Learned From Online Dating Profiles
My last two posts have been in response to the Meme Roth fat-shaming and her subsequent form letter e-mail reply.

You can check it here if you are still mad (like me)tobestalks.blogspot.com
I started me a new blog, See, What Had Happened Was… Like Dr. Confused, i have only one post of substance so far. In my case, it’s a look at Bush’s press conference on Thursday, one Q&A sequence in particular.
I’ve been trying to work out the ways activist pigeonholing happens and how to work more than one angle at the same time, with what’s turning into an interesting conversation here.
This week’s been slim pickins as I’m dealing with stressful real-life stuff, so all I really have to offer is a quickie from true mom confessions and this post from my new in-character role playing blog.
I’ve been ranting about freedom of the press and the slow slide into totalitarianism in Cambodia, and celebrated the late great Douglas Adams!
On Memorial Day, needlework, and feminism …
Last week I wrote about Newt Gingrich’s speech to Liberty University (my father wants him to be the next president).
And more recently, I weigh in on the nasty business with DeAnza College kids and the dropped rape charges, as well as some discussion of a recent encounter I had with a student of mine who didn’t know the definition of rape.
the first comic book trans cyborg
ha! mine is fluffier!
i’ve been blogging about my up-close-and-personal experiences with feral cats.
I choose Pie over Pirates.
I like to think my choice affected POC’s opening weekend, which wasn’t as far into the trillions as everyone speculated. Take that, Disney.
I wrote many posts this week about the De Anza and other outrageous rape cases that were in the news: here’s one about how I think that American society has failed women.
When I wasn’t howling about the injustice and rape culture in this country, I blogged about the politics of the new silicone breast implants.
I ask whether those group living reality TV shows are as sexist as I think they are, or I’m just behind the times.
Help me weigh in!
In a bit of a lead up to Renegage Evolutions’s Blogging for Sex Ed Day (the fourth), I’ve asked readers to ask me any questions they may have about sex, particularly kinky, nonstandard-type sex, so that I can perform some sex ed of my own and fight ignorance. Anonymous comments are welcome, no shame need be involved!

This week on Red Stapler…
I discuss a conversation with my brother about the positive or negative connotations of “geek” and “nerd.”
If reading about the struggles of novice knitters is amusing to you, I have a post up about my first cabled scarf. Cables — easy. Following a pattern? Not so much.
None of y’all will ever out-fluff me, just to be clear. :)
I write a reaction to a Christian Science Monitor headline that tries to blame videogames for falling state and federal park attendance
Also, O’Danu got Feminist Gamers a mention in an academic paper posted to the Iris Network on Idealizing Fantasy Bodies.
Mostly family stuff, but I’m up for the Gaylactic Spectrum Award for two of my short stories.
My post about Family Guy
http://tobestalks.blogspot.com/2007/05/my-guilt-over-family-guy.html
This isn’t self-promotion, but Jessica, a single mom of two, has started a new blog to help her work through her feelings about a recent rape and the resulting pregnancy. She plans on carrying the pregnancy to term and putting the child up for adoption. I’m not sure what to say to her, but I think she could use some support.
I just posted the fourth edition of my (sorta) weekly Perverted News Roundups, a collection of recent news stories about sexuality and gender. This week: homophobic morons in the military, transgendered mayor in England, ancient contraception, and bigfoot porn.
I’ve posted a first draft musing on the Ethics of Seduction, part of my ongoing series of writings in Queer Ethics/Queer Dharma.
