During nearly all of the eighties I was trapped in a repressive relationship that included little interaction with pop culture, save for sneaking private radio time. At its height of popularity of that song "Turn Around" (is that its title?) I was finally reaching the understanding that I could not save a bad marriage or change anyone but myself. The destruction of hopes and dreams and the realization that I had to take responsibility for my own life coincided with my trying to become an adult, having married much too young. How amazing that this song, which seemed to capture my feelings so long ago in words and arrangement, only further illustrates them visually. Wow. I never saw the video for that song until just now.
