On the other hand, he could get life without parole, which IMHO is just as bad. Does anyone know if this prevents them from stalling the trial until the kid is 18 and THEN putting up the death penalty?

I’m relatively sure that you have to be 18 when you commit the crime to be considered death penalty material, so it wouldn’t matter how long the state stalled the trial; if the kid was 17 when he pulled the trigger, he can’t get the death penalty.

On the other hand, he could get life without parole, which IMHO is just as bad.

Thankfully he went before me and all I had to say was that I read Ms. Magazine and was quickly removed from the jury. Yeah, who'd want a feminist who thinks to judge a couple of black teen aged men?
