What about the IRA? Sinn Fein? The scottish national party? Or even Plaid Cymru? That the celtic nations of the British isles has never thought about this idea before big old america showed us is partonising and so far off the money as to be pretty offensive. Britain was basically having a civil war for the last 20 years about this very issue, people were dying, but it was only once braveheart came along we suddenly started thinking about it!!!! what the hell!? it may have changed how americans thought about this, but not what was going on in the uk!! except for the idea that a braveheart put the idea of british imperialism into the “little maps” of the scots and the irish.
