There are lots of funny bars in Portugal. In the Bairro Alto there’s an awesome Mexican bar with cheap tequila, if you’re feeling so inclined, otherwise ignore the trendy tequila bar a few streets away because it’s expensive and they’re jerks. Down by the train station in Cais Sodre, there’s an Irish pub run by two Ireland expats who love to meet travelers and speak broken Portuguese adorably. Also, if you speak a bit of Portugese, it’s fun to hike around the Alfama and drink in local bars. Every Portugese person has a cousin somewhere in Mass. or California, so they all have some English they want to practice.

And even though I love the country, hold on to your purse.

I hate to bum you out – but did you ever see the infamous NYTimes op-ed by your “quite amazing” prof —

It’s not exactly the pinnacle of feminist thought…
    It’s called, “A Man’s Right to Choose”

Please eat an entire loaf of masa sovada for me.

It’s a sweet bread, which served warm with butter melted into it, is heavenly.

I used to get several loaves dropped on my doorstep at easter when I was a kid (heaps of Portugese neighbours). I crave it every now and then.

I love the idea of this video circulating among Iranian gay people. Always good to get a clandestine laugh, even if you don’t understand all the words and allusions.

I wonder is it was Samburg who came up with that sample. I never thought about that song being used for rap.

“Have I mentioned that I would totally be Andy Samberg’s Jim Cavezial?”

A resounding yes would be an understatement. You will have you A Hard Day’ Night moment if you spot Samberg in New York.
