And a little Friday protest song sent on by Michael, who I suspect is trying to turn my negative Bright Eyes associations around.

I can definitely understand having negative feelings for Bright Eyes, and I’d be hard pressed to find a friend who didn’t have any negative associations with Bright Eyes, that said: despite some nits to be picked, the sincerity of pieces like this tip me towards the “pro” side. And I consider emo as a genre to be evil by definition.
I don’t describe myself as a Bright Eyes fan. It’s female friends our pounding Connor Oberst into my head. I can’t escape the guy.
By the way: I take the Twilight Singers over Bright Eyes any day.

I’m waiting for the part in the song where he beats his own chest and cries.
But you know that, secretly, you would hold him until the tears stopped. Aww.
Nah, I’d knee him in the keister and tell him to punk up. :P
Wait, how did this get on LENO? I can only imagine the letters NBC got the next day.
But if I saw this in a coffeeshop, it would only remind me of “Listen to What the Flower People Say.” And then I would giggle.

Lauren is my hero. Congratulations on getting married.
Emjaybee, I love the Spinal Tap reference. My favorite Spinal Tap moment is Stonehenge.
