As a follow-up to my post Don’t ask, don’t tell… about Albus Dumbledore’s outing, I composed this post: I’ve addressed this question multiple times, about the underrepresentation of nonwhite people in American media. The commentary that follows both posts is heated indeed.
I wrote an extended piece on Bob Jones University–which is right here in my backyard.
I wrote this after Bob Jones III endorsed Romney, which was big news here. In reading the national news accounts, I realized a lot of people think BJU is like Wheaton, BYU or one of those Christian colleges. No comparison. In fact, it’s more like being in maximum security lockdown or joining the Moonies.
I got three emails from students, but there as you can see, were no posts from students. They threatened me with hell-fire, etc. What’s weird is how they all asked me to delete the email forthwith… obviously, with the internet filters, they weren’t supposed to have seen my blog in the first place, which is why they didn’t post replies that might be traceable.
I deleted them. I would never get them into trouble; life at BJU seems hellish enough.

Yesterday I wrote a post about the unlikely(?) intersection between Halloween decorations and racism.
Also, some thoughts on mainstream discussions about breast cancer.
What was supposed to be a 2 paragraph response paper on porn for one of my classes became a blogpost.
I made my own blog.. It’s got one post so far, but I’ll be posting frequently.

I wrote about an episode of “How I Met Your Mother” that is so chock full of dating-related double standards, in particular the “women are competitive, eye-gouging bitches” trope, even though it was the *men* in the episode who literally had a championship belt for their contest.
I wrote a post about my understanding of my identity as a person of colour, and another about the baggage that language carries.
We’re looking for some guest bloggers. Feminist content, self-esteem, pro-woman.
Opportunity to promote your own site and organization in bio.

Meet Rudy Giuliani’s neoconserative friends.
Another response to LaLubu: http://www.amptoons.com/blog/archives/2007/10/28/feminism-is-not-your-expectation/
Two humorous (hopefully) biology-related posts (because in the Bush era, we definitely need silliness): Staphylococcus aureus: Don’t Pick Your Nose!, and I, for One, Welcome Our Rampaging Turkey Overlords.
I ranted unfocussedly, according to a commenter, about Geri Halliwell, feminism and the patriarchy
I’m putting together a post on feminism in a random sample of fiction (books I’ve read recently) and I’m looking for input.
I wrote a feminist review of legally blonde, the musical…..i got kinda rushed at the end b/c i was in class….but i started off pretty strong…

Posting & reacting to the Archbishop of Canterbury’s charming “women don’t take abortion seriously,” and reacting in a somewhat (for me) unexpected way…
Of recent local racist bigotry:
Right wing conservative “journalist” Ezra Levant blames Islam for a terrible bus crash that killed a little 8 year old girl.
This week, I examined the differences between male- and female-appearing monsters in video games and posed the question, “Why aren’t there more female baddies?”
i want leopard… and anyone have a nice bootcamp tutorial?
This week I talked about Abortion, the movie Knocked Up, being considered “anti-male”, and sexual dominance and submission.
