Toby Keith *Might* Put A Boot in This Guy’s Ass

…I had to. I couldn’t resist. Too bad Garth Brooks went all nutso and his alter ego forced his career down into a fiery ball of flames. Because otherwise, he could start a rockin’ tour with this guy.

What? WHAT?! Cut me some slack. I grew up in Texas and Georgia, I appreciate crap fine, stellar music like this.

I grew up in Texas. I’m getting this guy’s music, if only to annoy my relatives. Who knows, I might even like it. Given what’s already on my ipod, it isn’t like I can claim superb taste in music anyway. BTW: What happened to Garth Brooks?

Okay, clearly, I can’t believe I’m responding to this topic and showing my Garth fan-dom…but here it goes.

    1) Garth retired to raise his kids.
    2) He did not have an alter ego (that album was released to promote a movie…but the movie was so bad, they never actually released it.)
    3) No hating on the first country artist to speak out for gay couples!

Really? I feel less bad about buying 3 albums of his then. I had some vague impression that he’d turned out to be a jerk.

Yup. His sister is gay. Back in 1992 he came out with the song “We Shall Be Free” for which he got a lot of flack and then said in the Village Voice that he supported gay marriage.

More recently on his new album, the pink edition, $10 of the $15 purchase price is going to Komen, so he can’t be that bad a guy.
