Half a million or so bikers, served by uninhibited alcohol and party venues that provide on-site sex trade workers might also account for a part of the South Dakota rape statistics.

Not to get side-tracked, but why is the term “forcible rape” used? Isn’t that an oxymoron?

I think it’s used to differentiate it from “statutory rape,” in which the person is too young to legally consent to sex.

i am not surprised by the stats. native american women are almost twice as like as any other group to be sexually assaulted, or victims of violence.

i will chip in if i can. i really think more reservations need facilities like this. this is amazing work they do, and it is much needed.
