Dowd has had issues with Hillary Clinton for a long time. Sometimes I think the woman wants to reinforce sexist stereotypes of being catty, snarky and gossipy.

First, I think she writes like that because her editors have told her it will sell.

Second, in the face of some of the moaning she’s done on other issues (which I think is seriously antistrategic – you think men are scared of smart, opinionated women? Then SHUT UP ABOUT IT, don’t roar in their faces) — dare I say it?

I think she’s jealous.

Really. Think about it.

That joke is almost old enough to get a driver’s license. In 1993 at the LGBT MOW, I rode the Metro with a (hot) leatherwoman who had a pin on saying “Hillary is a stone top.”
