I don’t know how the weather is where you all are, but in Germany it is damn cold and horribly damp. So this week for TTB, I bring you sunshine from the lovely Italian seaside of Amalfi, where it was hovering somewhere in the high 90s when I took these pictures this past August. They’re mostly of Amalfi (the town) and Positano, but there’s one of Naples and a few of delicious, delicious food. What I wouldn’t give for a little Italian sunshine and gnocchi sorrentina right about now…

Your pics make me think of ice cream. All pictures of Italy make me think of ice cream. I want sorbetto and I want it NOW!
But, apple schnapps would do …especially in “freezing fucking cold and soaked to the bone” Germany.
There is one gelateria in Amalfi that has the best caramel gelato I’ve ever had in my entire life. Mmmm…
And in freezing fucking cold Germany, we drink Glubwein, which is hot spiced rummy wine. That shit is amazing. It’s no gelato, but it’ll do.
That is a damn cruel thing to wave in front of your readers in the Midwest, specifically in MN, where it’s snowing — AGAIN. And with enthusiasm this time. We’re looking at another several inches before it stops. *sigh*
On the other hand, those are some seriously gorgeous pictures. I’ve said it before, but I’ll be redundant — you have a really, really good eye for photography. The sunset one is stunning.

When we headed down to Amalfi and Paestum, we rode in this huge bus packed with people. Right along the coast. Way up high on a cliff. On a road with hair-pin turns. Gulp.
One of the most terrifying moments of my life, but I’d give anything to do it again.

People often say, “I hope I get to see place X or Y or Z before I die.” But looking at some of these pictures reminds me that I’ll probably die without ever knowing certain places like this ever existed. Depressing…
Since we have been nearly washed away in a deluge of nigh-Biblical proportions here in the Emerald City, Jill, I’m afraid I find it hard to sympathize with you at this moment.
I went to the Cinque Terre several years ago, and I have been dying to get back there ever since. These pictures bring back so many memories from that trip.
