Friday video: One of my favorite Tom Waits tunes.
And in the spirit of Tom Waits love, a great scene from Coffee and Cigarettes:
Finally, the second-best thing to come out of Indiana (this lady being the first, obvs):
And an oldie but a goodie that I keep replaying to remind myself that in a week, finals will be over and I’ll be headed to Gay Paris.

Tom Waits and Iggy. Never a better dialogue. :)
Holy crap, Ted Leo’s from Indiana! Finally, someone from my home state I don’t have to be ashamed of! (cf. Dan Quayle, Michael Jackson, and Jared the Subway Guy.)
My favorite scene out of Coffee and Cigarettes was definitely a very needy Alfred Molina and a very standoffish Steve Coogan. Brilliant stuff.

I saw Coffee and Cigarettes alone in a movie theater in Old Town Prague, subtitled in Czech, very late at night on a cold day in January 2005. It was one of those experiences that sticks with you, I’ve never had anything quite like it happen since. Seeing clips from it always takes me right back there. :)
