I am officially exhausted. I’ve pretty much spent all day (and most of last night) scouring the internets for good pro-choice articles and blog posts (plus writing my own). A lot of what I’ve found is up at Alternet — I hope you’ll check it out, because there is a wealth of pro-choice goodness (more than a dozen articles and a few blog posts to top it off). I swear I’m not just blog-whoring — the stuff at Alternet is actually very, very good, and it’s a great round-up of what’s being said today. And don’t forget to sign up for the Reproductive Justice and Gender weekly newsletter that I’ll be sending out — sign-up is in the upper right-hand corner of the section. If you don’t live in the United States, just enter NONUS in the zipcode box.
Since Alternet only has permissions to reproduce posts from certain blogs,* I wasn’t able to grab nearly all of the fabulous blog posts that are up today — but I was lucky enough to get some of the best. Jessica highlights some more pro-choice blogging here, and NARAL Pro-Choice America has the full list of pro-choice bloggers here.
What were your favorite pro-choice posts and articles today? And as always, feel free to shamelessly self-promote in the comments.
And now it is finally time for me to pass out, after spending approximately 27 hours in front of my computer. I can no longer see straight, and if I have to italicize the word “Roe” one more time, I might throw my adorable little MacBook across the room. (Which would be sad, because, you know, it’s adorable and generally very kind to me). Don’t worry, though — I did make the time to have a glass of red wine (or two) in honor of Roe. And I am never again putting that word in proper italics.
Goodnight, and happy Roe day!

*If you regularly blog about reproductive justice and would like to see your stuff re-printed at Alternet, I’m always looking for submissions. Email me at jill@alternet.org with your name, your blog, a short bio and permission to use your stuff and I’ll add you to the list of blogs I draw from. Also feel free to forward on particular blog posts of yours that you think are pertinent. I can’t promise that I’ll always use them, but I’ll do my best.

Well, today inspired me to write my first ever post in the blog I set up a few months ago. So…here’s a link to my blog, it’s still the only thing posted, maybe now I’ll actually get started.

Hm. Inspired and yet intimidated by some of the major opinions, I opined myself. But then, that probably doesn’t count because I’m sure, in my privileged position, I forgot to identify the one or other blind spot …
I only stumbled upon the fact that it was blog for choice day late this afternoon, but I got something up nonetheless over at my little spot.
I don’t generally blog on woman’s rights issues, but I do consider myself compassionate about such topics. I wrote a little musing about Roe at my blog. Feel free to comment :)

I just started a blog of feminist-inflected political ranting, Election-Year Weltschmerz. I would love for people to come check it out. This is my first blog and my very-first blog-whoring, but I have a LOT to kvetch about and I really want readers and comments. LOVE the blog-for-choice coverage today! Go to my blog to check out my uncensored pro-abortion-rights rant.
oooh, oooh, shameless self-promotion! (I’ve been feeling freakishly non-ranty lately, but I’m doing much better now.) http://pocochina.livejournal.com/35510.html
Since you offered, I blogged for choice today. I also invited some friends to guest blog!
As a 50 year old woman who spent many younger years on the pro-choice front, and fighting to get the Equal Rights Amendment passed in my home state of OK (it didn’t) I am very heartened to find this site. I had begun to give up hope that any of the younger generations HAD feminists, and the few things that WERE accomplished in the 70′s and 80′s would be compromised. This site has rekindled my hope for and faith in younger women. Thank you.
Shameless self-promotion here. ;oP
My blogging partner and I both have posts up. I didn’t have as much time as I would have liked to follow links around yesterday, but I really appreciated the view from down under from bluemilk.
Thank goodness you didn’t have to use small caps; that could have added another 6-8 hours.
These links rock, Jill!
Here is my own blog for choice– I also take a look at the stupidity of Townhall columnist, Cal Thomas— it was almost too easy.

I wrote about Roe on myblog today. I blog regularly but it’s generally more personal than political. Feel free to comment!
I blogged for choice, but went in a tangential direction. Then explained how it fit.
I blogged for choice, more or less:
http://feet2thefire.blogspot.com/2008/01/so-here-we-are-at-35th-anniversary-of.html
and slightly related from last year:

mpj over at Two Women Blogging posted for Blog for Choice day with a slightly different perspective. She pointed out the lies that post sides of fence tell themselves to argue that their opinion is based on ABSOLUTE TRUTH, and follows up with her own feelings about the value of one life versus another.
Shamelessly self promoting here:
I have a new blog, and the first post is a (day late) blog for choice post. Go read it.

If you’d like to blog for choice a little longer, please note that next Monday, January 28, Canadian women will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the decriminalization of abortion.
Cheers!
