   Am I the only one who thinks that in the vast majority of Top Ten lists on Letterman, the #2 item is the funniest?

   A long time ago I read an article written by one of the Top Ten List writers, who said that they always try to put the funniest item at #2. I don’t remember what the reason they gave for doing that was…but it’s definitely #2. So it’s not just your perception. :)

   I remember them also saying that #s 8 and 5 (I think) were other key points in the countdown that they tried to make really funny. I can’t remember the exact numbers but there was definitely a purposeful structure to the countdown, and they acknowledged that some of the items were really lame.

   Isn’t it funny, the random pieces of information you keep in your head years later? :)
