Steven Colbert has the ability ( as does John, two of the few shows I even watch ) to take the issues of today and deliver a message. Not only show how serious it is but how silly (mainly) the right wing sees things… I always feel sorry for the person he is interviewing. … Steven is so good at what he does …

This time however it was someone from the HRC… and as a Trans person I’m kind of saddened after the whole ENDA thing… but after watching the video I now feel sorry for the HRC… they really do need stronger people who can deliver a message… maybe next time it will be a message that will also include Trans and not kick us to the curb…

… Thanks Steven for allowing me to feel better about the HRC

    … I needed a good laugh.

…oh, Colbert. :-) Your whimsical parody of the wingnut ideology makes me wish the Limbaughs and O’Reillys of the world possessed your hilarious wit, as they spew their bigotry. At least your show makes it easy to stomach hearing their talking-points.

Ohhhh gods, I almost burst my guts out over the floor watching that, it was hilarious to see Steven lobby the gentleman there about women.

Thing is, I think buddy knew what was coming, and so agreed to it. He had a chance to talk about issues concerning the gay community, as well as have a little bit of fun in the process.

I’m so glad Colbert and Stewart are back on the air for real!

Not that they aren’t great at improv, but . . .

Stephen Colbert, the Shimmering Zen Diamond of Irony. How does he keep a straight face?

It is so true. We do have great parts. See, if Colbert had been talking to a lesbian, she would have been in complete agreement.

annnajcook: This was actually aired during the last days of the strike, so the writers were still not back. Just sayin’ :)

I love this interview, the first part of it is also hilarious:

“If we legalise gay marriage, what’s going to stop a gay guy from busting into my house in the middle of the night, when I’m asleep, and gay marrying me? I wake up, no idea what’s going on, I’m gay married. Marriage is forever.”

Cool video, thanks for posting it. After watching this I saw the first, much funnier, part on youtube. It has more jokes, still gets the message through, and has none of the forced and awkward “lobbying” from Colbert.

Ironically, when paired with Stephen Colbert, Joe Solomonese makes the perfect straight man.

That was hilarious. Joe almost managed to keep a straight face (no pun intended). If he had I would have had to clean out my keyboard.

DYING by the time he made him high-five!!!

And, OH…”…how someone uses their genitals”! It IS THAT simple,
and way to show how stupid it is to care about that!

It says the video is no longer available…. I did see it when it aired though- hilarious! He’s got all the ridiculous paranoia of a crazy wing nut.

Sorry if I seem humorless, but I couldn’t really get past that the interviewee was instrumental in throwing trans people under the bus during last year’s ENDA debacle and that the interviewer is fond of using words like “shemale” and “tranny” as the punchline in his jokes.

I love the first part of the interview, when Joe Solomnese says, “We’re not gay for Huckabee, because he’s not gay for us.”

As a straight guy that support gay rights, I have been hit on by gay guys. They always stop hitting on me when I mention vagina. Joe Solomonese look when Colbert mentioned the V word was hysterical.

THE HCR seems to anger gays, transgender and progressives. Solomonese is politically tone deaf. Solomonese could have told people that this was the best deal HRC was going to get on ENDA. HRC would fight to include transgenders in later legislation. Instead, he chose to cover up and deny. Very stupid.

Every day I want to make out with Steve Colbert a little more.

Every day I want to make out with HRC less.
