I’m trying to do a poll on the refusal of pap smears story.
I respectfully tell Sen Kay Bailey Hutchinson to please STFU.
I finally reined in enough of my anger to be coherent and wrote on Bill-O’s comment about lynching parties
Another game of “Is it Real or Is it Onion”
More stuffwhitepeoplelike commentary.
I shamelessly link to other people’s interesting posts because I don’t have a blog of my own. It may be cheating (tell me if you mind), but sometimes it’s a good way to give a story exposure.
You may have been following the case of the five women killed in the UK within the space of a few days back in 2006. They were sex workers, which really brought the misogynists out of the woodwork.
Kay Burley, a presenter on Sky News actually asked Pamela Wright, the partner of the man convicted of their murders:
‘Do you think if you’d had a better sex life, he wouldn’t have done this?’
I found out via the F word, and Debi Linton, whose livejournal is linked below has started a petition calling for the presenter to be sacked for her misogynistic blaming of a sex attacker/murderer’s crimes on his partner. I’m personally ambivalent as to whether she should be sacked, but I defnitely think it was an absurdly below-the-belt sexist comment that feeds into the very misogynistic culture that led to the attacks.
Her livejournal is here:

I can’t believe in this day and age they’re still blaming women if their men commit sexual crimes.
PhysioProf says “FUCK YOU!” to Barack Obama.
Check out a fantastic guest post on masculinity and a non-guest post on fat-acceptance :)
I can’t believe, yet again, right after Shabbos I heard about “the worst day of fighting this week” between Israel and Hamas, et al. … and on what must have been the Shabbos. Oy vey.
A quick response to that “Girls Will Be Girls” article in the NYT Mag a couple weeks ago, and a bit on LGBTQ resources and the library.
Grief, Remorse, and Judgment: the myth of a “right response’ to abortion. Short excerpt:

I have the best graffiti ever painted in front of my house. Anyone with clues as to why this might be painted in front of my house is welcome to comment.
Five things to self-promote this week, four of which are about things I found in the British media:
From the Metro, a disgusting freebie rag the reading of which is a habit that I should really kick ASAP, there were two items:
The female equivalent of chubby-chasers, and my fat-boy reaction to it
And a bit about sexual bullying in British schools, that seemed to me to be blaming the victim.
My local media also had an article about bullying, this time targeted at LGBTQ children in school.
And the last bit of media comment: a piece from an old left-wing magazine issue, that I felt was slightly condescending towards us pro-feminist boys.
And finally, I compared the ways in which we view professional sports and prostitution, to see what effect decriminalising the latter might have for sex workers.
Oh yeah, and a shout out to those in the London area: Help save Southall Black Sisters!

I keep meaning to o participate in this. I almost never write about economics, but I am right in the middle of a series of posts about “the ownership society.” It’s called “The Society of the Owned.” Parts one two and three are up, with about three more to come.
A weekend of activism, and my husband getting Logo’s camera in his face.

I write here and complain a lot – I’m new to blogging.

I pitch a hissy about the need for a national primary since I’m in PA and Newsweek’s Jonathan Alter thinks HIllary should drop out now to be seen as gracious.
Hi guys!
Just finished posting a rant about Charlotte Allen’s article in The Washington Post today (“”We Scream, We Swoon. How Dumb Can We Get?”)

Just started my blog and would appreciate comments and suggestions. Mainly dealing with politics & feminism. Also try to have the occasional funny & random spoken word video. Please stop by and say hi!
