Full post later, but there should be lots of to-do on the feminist blogs throughout the day.

Happy International Women’s Day! I’ve got a video up at my blog.
Kind of on subject so I’m going to post this…I don’t know if anyoneheard of this too but I got an email from Planned Parenthood looking for donations for their regional Kenya office. Apparently, the violence in Kenya has sparked a rise in sexual violence against women so their fundraising to get emergency contraception etc. over there. I just wanted to post it because I’ve been following the Kenya crisis closely but never really connected those dots until I got this email. If anyone wants to donate there should be a link on the PP homepage or the IPP homepage (my links never work so I’m not going to try).
I was just at the Million Women Rise march in London today with my 2 month old daughter. It was brilliant – women from all over the world expressing solidarity in the fight against violence against women. Made me feel all fuzzy and optimistic for my daughter’s future.
I ended up posting on the whole women must panic if they’re over 30 and not married BS that lingers like a fart in a mitten. Seriously, yesterday was not the day to read that I should have settled (Atlantic Magazine) just so I could have a husband!
Did you hear how our Leader of the Opposition “celebrated” IWD? He attended a party his wife held instead of voting against government proposed legislation to protect “Unborn Victims of Crime”, and refused to whip his party into defeating it.
