A scoop of irony to go with your schadenfreude pie?

Quite possibly the most perfect bit of irony ever.

That was wonderful. I only wish they managed to pack in a whole busload of biologists!

But seriously, expelling him? What did they think he was gonna do, start yelling about evolution? Oh, no that woulld be their lot during that new Dr. Seuss film.

Aren’t they now terribly afraid he’s gonna rent it on DVD, or get one of those pirate copies (not that anybody would be selling pirared DVDs of something so bad!)?

That seems to be a common theme — that radical Real True Christians deserve the rights to privacy, respect, and the pursuit of happiness, whereas anyone they deem undeserving automatically loses all of this. They want to picket at your son’s funeral? Well, you can’t say anything because you’re just trying to silence them and destroy their free speech!

You want to picket THEIR bigoted, hateful convention taking place in your town? Look out for the lawsuit.

Also, if you can stand watching it, here’s a BBC documentary about Phelps and co. I’m 3 minutes in and I don’t think I can watch anymore. It opens with a group of young women and girls dancing and singing about how they’re proud to hate “fag enabling” Americans. I just don’t understand how people like that EXIST. How can you possibly ever be happy if your entire life is spent being so angry and hate-filled?

Also, I want to see this movie. I need a good laugh. When will it be torrented?

Hmm, is there a higher power inflicting typos on me for mocking creationists?

At first I thought you meant irony by the “Ann Coulter – free Subscriptions!” ad under your post.

Kudos on the hilarious Dawkins link!

What else an you expect out of the pig but the grunt? It’s always a Big Red Flag that you’re dealing with a pack of weak-willed bullies: they’ll always insist on strict adherence to any & all Rules & Regulations for everyone else while demanding total freedom for them & their crew. Hate ‘em.

Dawkins also told the crowd that the interview of him which appeared in the film was taken under false pretenses; he was not told he’d be appearing in an anti-evolution documentary.

…and that’s the only way that the Wringnutz can ever hope to get him to participate in their bullshit, since he’s on the record describing Creationism/ID a “preposterous, mind-shrinking falsehood” & refuses to give their Junk Science Dukspeak even a whiff of credibility by debating them. Sneaky fucks. In a bad way.

You might want to check out this review of the movie first. The review is from Myers’s daughter Skatje (who they let into see the film) and if it’s even half as pointless as she describes the movie sounds like it probably isn’t even good for a laugh.

Gosh, if they think it’s right, why would they be so protective of it?

You don’t see scientists telling creationists (even die-hard ones coming in with an aggressive attitude) that they’re not allowed to learn about evolution.

It’s true. As a matter of fact, some of us volunteer a lot of time to explain the details of evolutionary theory to anyone who will listen, even when they’re disinclined to believe it.

I find it hilarious that these are the same people who wax Orwellian about the ev0lutionists suppressing their oh-so-noble dissent.
Wingnuts never cease to amuse me.
