First, a video, because I’ve been playing this song on repeat while I study and it’s stuck in my head:
1. Voxtrot – Your Biggest Fan
2. Bonnie Rate – I Can’t Make You Love Me
3. Cat Stevens – Oh Very Young
4. The War On Drugs – Buenos Aires Beach
5. Tom Waits – Lost in the Harbour
6. Franz Ferdinand – Come On Home
7. The Cure – More Than This
8. Bright Eyes – Spent on Rainy Days
9. The Gossip – Yr Mangled Heart
10. Ryan Adams – World War 24
And a Friday video, dedicated to David Brooks:

I think we have the same taste in music, and by that I mean you have excellent taste in music. My friend stole my Aeroplane Over The Sea vinyl, I miss it. D:
Okay, I studied for the bar last summer and played NMH’s Aeroplane Over the Sea and On Avery Island on repeat so much that only now, a year later, has NMH fallen out of first place of our household Last.FM stats.
I also played Midlake’s The Trials of Van Occupanther and a variety of Bonnie Price Billy/Palace Bros. a ton. It’s all music that is comfortably familiar and total wallows in your misery with you, while still somehow management to be hopeful and uplifting.
“Management.” Ha. Can you tell I have spent the morning writing about employer/employee relationships?
Love, love, love Neutral Milk Hotel! :D
