Friday Random Ten – the Friday Nights Are So Much Less Fun In The Library edition

Although in other news, I have taken up boxing as my new way of relieving the Bar-studying stress. Yoga was the original plan, but sadly none of the classes fit into my schedule, so boxing it is. Everyone else in the class is really good. I am inept, but learning. I have never sweated (sweat? swat?) so much in my life. And it’s lots of fun.

Did you do anything interesting this week?

Now, the FRT — done this week my new iPod that I got for graduation from a very lovely friend. (Am I the last person ever to own an iPod? Even my mom has one).

1. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds – Little Ghost Song
2. Roots – You Don’t See Us
3. Bill Withers – Ain’t No Sunshine
4. The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra – Jelly, Jelly
5. Janis Joplin – Try
6. Hi-Tek Feat. Big D and Piakhan - No One Knows Her Name
7. Radiohead – Backdrifts
8. Guided by Voices – Things I Will Keep
9. The Capstan Shafts – Oil Over Greenland! (Morsels of Fortitude)
10. Ryan Adams – I See Monsters

Friday video: The song I’ve had stuck in my head all week long.

I hope your bar review studying is going well!

Ain’t No Sunshine is one of the best songs ever. I could listen to it 100 times in a row.

Did I do anything interesting? I worked as an “inspector” at a polling place on Tuesday. (The inspector is the person in charge – I got to hold the keys to the electronic machines, woohoo!) It was certainly interesting – a little hectic, a little difficult, but fun and new. Oh, and LONG. Woke up at 4:45 am, got home at 10:30 pm. But now that I’ve done this civic duty, I’ll feel better about doing everything possible to get out of jury duty next time I’m summoned. :)

Ahhh, law school…. I worked on finishing my third to last paper for my undergrad degree and sympathized with my husband who is agonizing over his bar review classes. He and our 12 year old daughter just started Judo and they love it. If your boxing classes get old, try Judo!

My current youtube obsession is this video with a song from Shitake Monkey… I don’t know, but it’s what is stuck in my head for some reason ;)

Can I just say I work in a 24 hour library and spend my Friday and Saturday evenings there? So, when I saw the title of your post, it made me happy inside.

I never thought I would like boxing. But there’s something deeply cathartic about it. Now, just getting my hands wrapped gets me vaguely excited.

I note that Tom Waits did not make his customary appearance.
