Jill at Brilliant at Breakfast observed the following truly heinous disgusting behavior on a supposed “news” show this morning:
Just how I had Morning Joe on for five minutes, and in a segment with Mort Zuckerman decrying the campaign’s placing of McCain in ridiculous situations, such as grocery shopping with a young mom while wearing a full suit and tie, to show what a regular guy McCain is.
And then Scarborough said something astonishing. He said that they were feeding into his earpiece “Don’t be mean to John McCain.” He then defended himself by saying that he’s not being mean to McCain, he’s berating the campaign for putting him in these situations. Then he went off into the required litany of “war hero” and “great American.”
Are you fucking kidding me!?
How fucking telling is it that what this fake-ass shitheel “journalist” feels obligated to defend himself against is not the evidence that he is nothing more than a right-wing propaganda sleazemonger listening to “them”–his sick-fuck neo-fuedal corporate masters–whispering in a fucking earpiece in his slimy nauseating ear, but rather that he is not treating the sick-fuck right-wing hope McSlime gently enough. Jesus Fucking Christ!

Is this really news to you, PhysioProf? Anyone over the age of 15 should have figured this out by now.
I hate that kind of response Arnold. I see that all the time at Glenn Greenwald’s place. “This surprises you? It’s obvious to me!”
Some people pay less attention to politics than others, for some this is new information, and for everyone it’s a new piece of evidence. One thing the right-wing has learned is that repitition is key. It’s not enough that something is previously established in some circles, to get beyond that circle it has to be reinforced.
PhysioProf is calling out bad behavior. To you that’s worthy of ridicule?
This type of thing is not surprising but it’s still worth building up that mountain of evidence.
“Arnold” is just a dumbfuck ineffectual troll. It’s not worth even engaging.
Wow, that is amazingly awful, though not surprising.
Also, I think “sick-fuck neo-feudal corporate masters” is a phrase that I must work into my vocabulary for occasional use.
Arnold Layne, Arnold Layne
Arnold Layne, Arnold Layne
Now he’s caught – a nasty sort of person.
They gave him time
Doors bang – chain gang
He hates it
Oh, Arnold Layne
(Pink Floyd)
Sorry, got distracted.
Yeah, I really dislike Scarborough, former Florida congressman (Republican) and loudmouthed philistine fool. I can’t believe he has a gig on TV. Who’s doing the hiring?
Here’s the thing about the corporate mainstream media. They are in this to make money. Not to provide a public service. Even though that supposedly is their mandate for being able to hold a liscence to use the public airwaves.
They have a vested interest in creating the perception of a horse race between Obama and McCain. They need this thing to be close. It helps their ratings.
They have a vested interest in tweaking this campaign to make it look like a battle between two equally competent titans of the american political scene.
Jesus, does anyone remember the 2000 race? The media fell all over themselves pretending that George Bush the Idiot, even belonged on the same stage with Al Gore. Any rational person would have looked at those debates between Gore and Bush and concluded that the idiot from Texas was a buffoon who was way out of his league. But, the corporate media of course tweaked the narrative to show that Bush “held his own” against Gore.
Anyone in the right freaking mind, and who was interested in telling the truth, would recognize that this year we have a doddering, 92 year old man with outdated ideas (and possible on the verge of Alzheimers), running against a competent, vibrant, intelligent, and emminently qualified 47 years old wunderkind
That was bizarre, wasn’t it? I remember watching the debates between GWB and Al Gore, and thinking “Wow, Gore is kicking his ass up one side and down the other.” Then the commentators would come on after, and say “My, didn’t George Bush do well!” ….eh!??
That is goddamn astonishing to catch a major news outlet openly admitting they’re favoring a candidate. Is there video of this anywhere?
My, my! This does seem to be the season for embarrassing open mike statements.
The surprise is that Scarborough hasn’t figured out that he has to pretend that he doesn’t have the earpiece filled by instructions on what to say. And that viewers don’t know that the resident talking heads are coached as a matter of course.
It does need to be said over and over again. The post at Brilliant at Breakfast went over McCain’s record on women’s health. I’ve organized a couple phonebanks for Planned Parenthood Advocates of NY this year trying to get the word out and have definitely talked to some women that are pro-choice, but are supporting John McCain. He’s a “maverick and a moderate” don’t you know…
Keep speaking the truth, PhysioProf!
Is there a media that actually feels it’s a public service?
Allegedly CBC up here is a public service. I still don’t have the tools I need to properly evaluate that for myself, though.
I loved the grocery shopping spots with McCain. Who the HELL told him it would be a good idea to be interviewed in front of a rack of packaged cheese? Sorry, but the mere thought of it again sends me into hysterical laughter. Entertaining, all of it.
Why is everyone mean to me? I think God hates me, too.
And another thing; if Barack Obama has to run for President, does he have to make such a big deal about it? I’m hungry.
I FUCkiNG LoVE FUckING SWEARING!!!1! lOlZ!!11!
