		<description>Thanks for this honest post. I am only now starting to feel (as opposed to understanding intellectually) that I really wasn&#039;t responsible for the assaults subsequent to the first one. And actually, I&#039;ve never talked to another person who had repeated assaults by different perpetrators. 

The part about having your perceptions altered by assault especially resonated with me. Obviously, the people (men and women, so unfortunately sterilization wouldn&#039;t work) who assaulted me are totally to blame. But I did make poor choices -- and this is really hard to explain, to understand my actions without taking responsibility for the assault, but my safety scale was always screaming &quot;danger!&quot; so I learned to tune it out. I hope that this makes some kind of sense -- I&#039;m just starting to work it all out for myself, obviously -- but I wanted to say that I really appreciate your writing and it makes me feel less stupid and blame-worthy.</description>
