Jack, I’m amazed at how well you are able to capture both your misgivings and hesitations about the event and its format and your sparks of genuine admiration and star-struckness. I felt similarly but had a hard time explaining the experience to myself (let alone others). Thank you for the work you put into this post – I was at the meeting and I still learned from it!

Well yeah Jack, but I’m totally greedy! :) Also, you got to sit next to the guy, talk to him directly, and I do believe that’s the president’s hand on your shoulder! I mean, Bill Clinton isn’t my all-time favorite person either, but damn is that fucking cool.

@Johanna – Glad you appreciated the post And yeah, I hear you on the importance of not having the same faces and voices at the table; funny how it’s easier to keep that in the forefront of your mind when it’s not about you!

@L.A. “other” – I haven’t met many politicians or celebrities, but of the few I’ve met, Clinton was pretty far up there on the charming scale. Though I’ve also met Cynthia Nixon and she gives him a run for his money, heh. (Though I might be biased there…)

@Alexandra – I was so relieved to hear about the stay of execution. It’s only until Monday, though, when they decide whether or not to hear the case; I’m really nervous that they’ll wind up deciding not to. Let’s hope.

@Cara – But you got to meet Hillary Clinton! I think that’s way cooler. So we get to be jealous of each other. :)

@PhysioProf – Haha, seriously? They’re actually kinda out of control. My partner calls them mad professor eyebrows. Occasionally I think I should do something about them… and then I don’t.

Thanks so much for the good news Alexandra! (Here's the news story.) Whew. Although, I have to say that with our current Supreme Court, I'm not hugely optimistic about his chances there either . . . Oh, and I'm totally jealous Jack.

SCOTUS granted Troy Davis a stay of execution, thank god.

And congrats on meeting Clinton – it sounds like an interesting conversation.
