How desperate is the GOP?

That they’re nominating this guy for a U.S. Senate seat. From his “vision“:

* Bob asked the State Bar Association in 2006 to request the Legislature abolish no-fault divorce.
* Bob supports marriage preparation classes to include finances, health, communication, etc., administered by appropriate professionals, including clergy.
* Bob asks, are increased female teenage suicides the result of increased internet sex shows which convince young females they are only “property” and not fully as human as boys. Bob believes laws censoring sex shows demeaning to females can be enacted that pass constitutional muster.

Bob is PRO-LIFE, i.e., from Conception ’til Natural Death

* Bob is Pro-life. Elected in 1972 from Yellowstone County, Bob tried to outlaw abortion in Montana’s Constitution. Further, Bob says “assisted suicide” is murder.

IMMIGRATION SOLUTIONS

* There are an estimated twelve million undocumented Mexicans in the U.S. Substantial data indicates there were no problems until we passed the 50% point or six million. Data also indicates that six million immigrants are here because of faulty US agricultural policies. There is a solution to this problem.

A solution indeed — the solution, apparently, is that there is one.

Way to pick the brightest stars, Republicans.

The cognitive dissonance is just astonishing.

Oh no, women are being treated as property and like they’re not as fully as human as men! Let’s make it more difficult for women to exercise their rights in relationships and control their own bodies! No, there is no contradiction here! Also, let’s kick out those illegals, who actually aren’t fully human! VOTE FOR BOB!

I’m with Cara. He doesn’t want girls to see themselves as property and less human than boys but then goes on to take away their rights thus giving them less rights then boys?

But it’s probably just my simple lady mind that’s having problems with this concept ^^

No fault divorce decreased the rate of husband-cide in the U.S. dramatically. Why does Bob want to force men back to the days of being slowly poisoned or quickly shot by their wives? Bob must not like men very much.

Plus, he talks about himself in the third person. Bob is weird.

A solution? Am I the only one who’s reminded of Cartman in a little brown uniform talking about how glad he is that everyone finally wants to do something about “the problem?”

Bob has a good idea in marriage counseling.
Bob thought the State Bar would support abolishing no-fault divorce? Bob is insane.
Bob isn’t much of a constitutional scholar, is he.
Bob looks like Santa’s evil brother.

Parents have ultimate choice in their children’s schooling

    * Bob recognizes the rights of parents to send their children to schools of their choice, including Charter Schools’ and the right to home school their children.

Translation: Bob is pro-ignorance. (I speak here as a former homeschooling victim.)

    FULL EMPLOYMENT LAW:

    * The FULL EMPLOYMENT LAW calls for mandatory service for healthy males and females 18 to 23 who can opt for (1) service in the Civilian Conservation corps re-building our infrastructure, e.g., our bridges, schools, sewer systems and public buildings or Peace Corps, America Corps or other public service or (2) two to six years of active or reserve military service. College and graduate students would serve this duty after completing their formal education.

And it might have a chance, too, if it weren’t for that darn pesky old Thirteenth Amendment. (The original CCC, by the way, was a volunteer force.)

yeah, this guy is batsh&t crazy. it’s a huge joke that he even got the GOP nomination – i think it was because nobody else would run. he’s going up against max baucus, against whom no republican stands a chance. it’s all beyond absurd. i wouldn’t take it too seriously.

Cactus Wren, I was home-schooled for four years, and got a far better education than I would have in a junior high. The quality of home-schooling depends entirely on who’s developing (and delivering) the curriculum.

trishka’s right – Kelleher is a tackling dummy for Baucus. Any contenders the GOP may have are being saved for 2012 against Tester.

Hm. Abolish no-fault divorce? Oy. That would have gotten my ex-husband into serious trouble with his workplace (the military).

However, I do like the idea of marriage prep classes–as long as the people who take them can choose which ones they want to attend (folks as diverse as Catholic clergy or Barbara DeAngelis and probably also Deepak Chopra teach them). They do help bring relationship issues into the open and can help prevent years of oogly marital unbliss.

I’m pretty sure he is saying that if the US were to fix it’s flawed agricultural policies, the number of people entering the country illegally would drop by 50%. This change would be enough that the wackos wouldn’t see it as an issue and would stop trying to enact laws that make Hispanic residents (legal or not) afraid to go to the grocery store.
