Who knew that I could possibly be more disgusted by our Supreme Court?
Amnesty International is asking people to take more action for Troy Davis. From their email:
- Write a letter to the editor calling on Georgia to stop the execution of Troy Davis!
- Call on the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles to reconsider its previous decision and grant clemency to Troy Davis.
- Urge your friends and family to go to amnestyusa.org/troydavis or text TROY to 90999 to add their voices to the over 200,000 that have already taken action on this case.
And by all means, do all of that. But I have to say that my hopes are very, very low at this point. And I really do think that very soon, the state of Georgia is going to kill an innocent man.

This is outrageous. We just had Kirk Bloodsworth from The Justice Project (more focused on policy than the Innocence Project) as a guest speaker last night at my university. Kirk was the first person exonerated from death row using DNA evidence. Guess what he was convicted on? Eyewitness testimony. And, they believe that in Troy’s case one of his eyewitnesses actually might be the guilty party. But, he’ll probably die because it was victim was a police officer and the court refuses to admit their error.
We have killed innocent people and we will continue to do so in the U.S.
