It might be my Obama optimism not quite ready to fade, but this makes me hopeful for the future. I am sickened to think about all the women who are sitting in this state-controlled limbo, whose statues of limitations have lapsed, and whose attackers are able to live without consequence.

200 lost is too many for LA. 200 is too many for our nation. Thousands of women awaiting this backlogged justice is disgusting. In addition to rape, the article says most of the samples are from sexual assault victims. How many of these DNA samples could help those on death row? Those wrongfully imprisoned? I know the courts/justice system can be slow, but this is shameful.

I did start this positively, now that I look back. Like our country’s election results, progress is progress, but there is more to be done.

    Thanks for the post.
