The Rules: Set your MP3 player to shuffle, and post the first 10 songs that come up.

Friday video: Since you were all such fans of Santogold last time around, here she is again:

The Ten:

1. Rhett Miller – Our Love
2. Thelonious Monk Quartet with John Coltrane – Evidence
3. Mary J. Blige – Never Been
4. Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Warrior
5. Silver Jews – The Right to Remain Silent
6. The War on Drugs – Buenos Aires Beach
7. The Books – Tokyo
8. Michael Jackson – Billy Jean
9. Les Savy Fav – Hold On to Your Genre
10. Ted Leo and the Pharmacists – Who Do You Love?

And the White Stripes do Dolly Parton:

More tunes below the fold.

No video here, but another Santogold track that I love. And yes, it was on Gossip Girl a few weeks ago. What? (If you’re as big a Gossip Girl fan as I am, you’re reading the NYMag recaps, right? Amazing).

Some Grizzly Bear:

Girl Talk has a pretty sweet remix of Knife, but I’m pretty sure I’ll get yelled at if I post the video on a feminist blog, so here it is if you’re interested.

And a little Rufus, for old-times’ sake:

Yes, Gossip Girl = (one of my many) embarassing guilty pleasures. The same episode with the Santogold song has another song I’ve been addicted to: Nappy Roots’ Good Day. I remember that episode being particularly rife with good music (and drama for that matter – rise of Serena, fall of Blair – doesn’t get much better (or worse) than that).
