There was a convention in my small town recently and a woman barely escaped a beating by a couple of yahoos who thought she was deceiving them. They wanted to prove how manly they were by beating on a trans woman. This story didn't make the local news and I only know about because the unhusband came to the rescue. Shit like this happens day in and day out. How the fuck does someone decide that beating another proves their gender identity. The violence that trans women face is so under reported.
